With the wonderful team at Already Been Chewed, I was tasked with creating interstitial abstract 3D shots for the Nike Air Max 95000 shoe. My job was to create a visually stunning representation of 3d printing in 3d space. I did this using a variety of vellum-simulation techniques combined with real Prusa 3D G-code. All 3d work was done in Houdini, rendered using Redshift, and post-processed in After Effects.

Using a combination of lerp functions and vellum simulations within Houdini, I was able to accurately direct how the 3d printed layers formed into the Nike logo.
